ABOUT THIS LIVEABOARD

The Undersea Explorer is a liveaboard based in the Conflict Islands, Papua New Guinea. Superbly refurbished, the Conflict Islands is offering charter trips on her vessel, in conjunction with Pelagic Dive Travel.

Departing from Alotau, on this nine-night itinerary & travelling around the Milne Bay area of Papua New Guinea, will visit areas of pristine diving conditions. The vessel will visit areas which are rarely dived & visit new areas on the way to the Conflict Islands. See massive gorgonian fans, Green Turtles & coral coverage which covers as far as the eye will see. These areas are amazing, so full of life and colour!

These trips will leave you wanting more, a place that every diver must visit at least once in their life!

  • Two separate rinse tanks, one for cameras & one for your equipment.

BOAT INCLUSIONS

General Inclusions

Air-conditioned cabin with share facilities, towels, & linen.

Local tax (on booking cost only)

All meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner + snacks

Accommodation based on two people sharing (twin or double cabin) or single use (at surcharge).

Dive equipment - Surface Marker Bouy, 12L aluminium dive tank (yoke valves), weights & weight belt - all other equipment is available for hire (except wetsuits).

Transfers to & from Alotau airport (IATA code GUR) to the departure marina, on the day of embarkation and disembarkation only.

Several land excursions are available, this will depend on location & itinerary.

Type of Meals

The vessel has a chef who will prepare with a range of international & local cuisine served in a buffet-style in the air-conditioned dining area. The vessel can cater to special dietary requirements (within reason), please inform on booking about your requirements, well in advance. Also, a selection of fresh fruit and some tasty treats are readily available, should you feel peckish in-between meal times.

Drinks

A range of carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, black, green & herbal teas are available at all times, as well as instant and freshly brewed coffee. Guests may also select beer, wine or spirits from the bar for an additional fee.

BOAT EXCLUSIONS

General Exclusions

No Visas (responsibility of traveller)

Any Optional Activities which may include but not limited to: Dive Courses.

Rates & local taxes subject to change.

All alcohol is NOT included - local beer, wine, spirits & cocktails all at extra cost.

Travel & Diving Insurance is for the traveller to organize before travel - Your diving insurance is mandatory & must cover all of your scuba diving & snorkelling activities, including the costs for recompression chamber treatment & emergency air evacuation,(must be shown on board).

All rental diving equipment is for hire - BCD, regulator with Occy & pressure gauge, mask, fins, snorkel, dive computer, underwater torch - pre-book possible when booking, payment on board. All Aqualung products - make and model will vary. NO Wetsuits are available.

Any Extra Services which may include but not limited to: onboard calls, laundry, special services.

Satellite Internet/ Wifi is not available. (Please be aware that this area is remote & mobile roaming will be very limited).

PADI medical statement will need to be signed, any "yes" answers will need a medical certificate - any medical costs associated are to be covered by the traveller & should be done in your home country as there will not be a local dive doctor available + Liability release & express assumption of risk agreement, to be signed.

Marine Port & Park fees are paid directly on board (Called "Kastom Fees" which go to the local communities that are visited).

No International or domestic flights are included

Taxes and Surcharges

All payment for extra services or optional activities is preferred in cash (USD, PGK, AUD), however, if by credit card (Mastercard or Visa) it will incur a 3% surcharge.

Marine Park & Port Fees (Kastom Fees) - AUD - 7 Nights itinerary's $175, 10 nights $250, per person, payable onboard. ( Kastom Fees" go to the local communities that are visited).
